Poverty Prevention

In the battle to overcome poverty, Danyar Relief & Development Organisation (DRDO) aims to expand its successful educational and healthcare projects which are for the relief and long-term solutions to poverty for children and women in villages and remote areas. DRDO School System, aims at reaching out to the children of deprived areas and provides them free basic functional literacy at their doorstep supplements them leading successful and purposeful life.

Floods Displace Many Families in Beledweyne Town

The families from different suburbs of Beledweyne town were displaced when the heavy rains and floods from River Shabelle submerged their houses.Food, clothes and properties of unknown value were also carried away by the flashed floods.The flood victims who moved to El-Jale locality appealed to the government and NGOs to assist them with food and other humanitarian assistance.Hiran deputy governor for Social affairs, Sheikh Hussein Osman called on well-wishers to donate blankets and clothes to ease the suffering the displaced persons as they are now spending their nights out in the cold. “These people came here for safety and now need food, water, medicine and tents therefore I call upon the humanitarian aid agencies to play their roles,” said Osman.UN Office for the coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said on Monday that thousands of people in Hiran region have been affected after River Shabelle burst its banks and inlets overflowed into parts of Beledweyne town and several riverine villages inundating houses and crops.The agency pointed out that Beledweyne Airport has not been functioning for extended period over the course of last week due to barrage by rain waters, hampering the delivery of supplies.Among the areas people fled from are, Hila’a, Kitimbo, Donsubagle, Kooshin and Hawo-tako neighbourhoods

It costs around £100 a month to cover the basic costs of caring for 2 boys and girls - costs including food, clothing, medication, and primary education fees. Our charity is completely run by volunteers. This means all the money donated goes directly to the children's feeding center, education,farming and health care centers. We are always happy to recieve sponsorships from groups of people such as school's, work placements, families, musicians etc.
